Use case

Monitor competitor prices and seller offers on eBay by keyword

Search eBay by keyword and get current listings as JSON with price, condition, seller and shipping, to watch competitors and price your own items.

If you sell on eBay or source from it, the price you set depends on what is listed right now: how many sellers compete, how low the cheapest one goes and whether they ship free. Checking by hand for every product is slow and stale by evening. Lovely Router runs the eBay search for you. Send keywords, get one JSON object per listing, pay per listing from a prepaid balance. Run it from a script, a repricing job or an AI agent with one API key.

Hand it to your AI agent

Copy this prompt into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or any coding agent. It tells the agent where the docs are and how to use your API key.

Monitor competitor prices and seller offers on eBay by keyword. Use the Lovely Router data tools: each returns JSON and is billed per result.

- Docs (read first): https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/find.md and https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/run.md
- Plan first: POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/suggest with `{"task": "<my task in plain words>"}` (free). It returns the tools to run in order, each with an example `input`, the `input_required` fields, an estimated cost and a ready-made `run` request. Replace the example values with my task's; if a field is unclear, read the tool with GET https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/<id>. To browse instead, POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/discover searches the catalog.
- Show me the plan and its estimated cost (`total_est_cost_usd`) before running anything large.
- Run: POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/<id>/run with `{"input": {...}, "max_results": N}`. A 200 has the finished run with `items`; a 202 means it is still running, so poll the `poll` path until `status` is `succeeded`, `failed`, `timed_out` or `stopped`.
- Only delivered results are billed. Keep max_results small on the first run, check the output, then scale up.
- If you support MCP, connect https://lovelyrouter.com/mcp instead (Streamable HTTP, same key; https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/mcp.md) and use suggest_tools, get_tool and run_tool.
- Auth: read my API key from the LOVELY_API_KEY environment variable and send it as `Authorization: Bearer $LOVELY_API_KEY`. Never print or commit the key. If it is not set, ask me to create one at https://lovelyrouter.com/app/keys.
- Billing is prepaid: every call is charged to my balance, so test with a small request before running anything large.
- Every docs page is plain Markdown; the full index is https://lovelyrouter.com/llms.txt.

How it works

010203
  1. List your search terms

    One keyword per product you sell or buy: a model number, a product name, an item number or an "exact phrase" in quotes.

  2. Run the tool with a cap

    Send them to POST /v1/tools/ebay-listings/run with the eBay site, optional price and condition filters, and max_results as the run cap. The run holds its maximum cost from your balance and returns the listings as JSON.

  3. Compare with your price

    Per keyword, find the lowest price, the median price and the count of sellers offering free shipping. Reprice or alert when the market moves.

02

Get current listings with one request

Search eBay listings takes search terms in keywords, each running as its own search, and the country site in ebaySite. Filter with minPrice, maxPrice (in the currency of the site) and condition. The tool reads the first results page of each search:

curl https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/ebay-listings/run \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $LOVELY_API_KEY" \
  -H "content-type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "input": {
      "keywords": ["mechanical keyboard"],
      "ebaySite": "www.ebay.com"
    },
    "max_results": 20
  }'

A run still going after 60 seconds returns 202; Run a tool shows how to poll. One run can return up to 60 listings.

Daily price watch

Run your top 30 keywords each morning, store the lowest and median price per keyword, and alert on a drop of more than a set percentage.

Check the free-shipping field

For each keyword, count the share of listings with free shipping, and decide whether to absorb shipping in your price.

Compare new and used

Run the same keyword with the condition filter for new and for used to see the gap and price your refurbished stock.

Watch another country

Switch ebaySite to www.ebay.co.uk or www.ebay.de and compare prices in each currency before you ship across borders.

Source below market

Set maxPrice and look for listings priced far under the median of the same keyword.

Prefer plain words? Connect the MCP server and tell Claude Code or Cursor: "Search eBay for the 15 keywords in products.txt, and give me the lowest price, the median price and the number of sellers for each, as a table. Set max_results to 60."

06

What you pay

You pay per listing: starting a run holds its maximum cost, the per-call fee plus the per-listing fee times max_results, and the run settles to what it returned. The rest of the hold goes back to your balance. A run that fails or times out pays only for the listings it delivered, and a run refused at the start costs nothing.

Watching 30 keywords at 20 listings each is billed as 600 listings. There is no subscription and no monthly minimum: top up from $5, and one balance pays for tools and models. The card above shows today's price; pricing lists every tool.

Frequently asked questions

?
Which eBay sites are supported?+

ebaySite accepts www.ebay.com, www.ebay.co.uk, www.ebay.de, www.ebay.fr, www.ebay.it, www.ebay.es, www.ebay.ca and www.ebay.com.au. Prices come back in the currency of the site.

How many listings per keyword?+

The tool reads the first results page of each search, and one run returns up to 60 listings in total.

Can I search by item number or an exact phrase?+

Yes. The keywords field accepts search terms, an item number or eBay syntax such as an "exact phrase" in quotes.

Does this show what items sold for?+

No, it shows current listings. For completed sales use eBay sold listings.

Can I filter by condition?+

Yes, with the condition field. New and Used work across all categories.

Do I need a subscription?+

No. You add credit to a prepaid balance and each run draws it down. Failed runs pay only for the results they delivered, and nothing renews automatically.

Pricing across channels? See e-commerce intelligence, review monitoring and the tool catalog.

One prepaid key for models, data and agents
