Track the Amazon Best Sellers list for a category over time
Read Amazon Best Sellers, New Releases or Most Wished For for a category as JSON with rank, title, price, rating and ASIN, and see who moves.
If you sell in an Amazon category, the Best Sellers list is the scoreboard: who is in the top 50 today, what they charge and how well they are rated. Looking at it once tells you little; the useful part is what changed since last week. Lovely Router reads the list for you. Send category links, get one JSON object per product, pay per product from a prepaid balance. Call it from a script, a weekly report or an AI agent with one API key.
Hand it to your AI agent
Copy this prompt into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or any coding agent. It tells the agent where the docs are and how to use your API key.
Track the Amazon Best Sellers list for a category over time. Use the Lovely Router data tools: each returns JSON and is billed per result.
- Docs (read first): https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/find.md and https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/run.md
- Plan first: POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/suggest with `{"task": "<my task in plain words>"}` (free). It returns the tools to run in order, each with an example `input`, the `input_required` fields, an estimated cost and a ready-made `run` request. Replace the example values with my task's; if a field is unclear, read the tool with GET https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/<id>. To browse instead, POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/discover searches the catalog.
- Show me the plan and its estimated cost (`total_est_cost_usd`) before running anything large.
- Run: POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/<id>/run with `{"input": {...}, "max_results": N}`. A 200 has the finished run with `items`; a 202 means it is still running, so poll the `poll` path until `status` is `succeeded`, `failed`, `timed_out` or `stopped`.
- Only delivered results are billed. Keep max_results small on the first run, check the output, then scale up.
- If you support MCP, connect https://lovelyrouter.com/mcp instead (Streamable HTTP, same key; https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/mcp.md) and use suggest_tools, get_tool and run_tool.
- Auth: read my API key from the LOVELY_API_KEY environment variable and send it as `Authorization: Bearer $LOVELY_API_KEY`. Never print or commit the key. If it is not set, ask me to create one at https://lovelyrouter.com/app/keys.
- Billing is prepaid: every call is charged to my balance, so test with a small request before running anything large.
- Every docs page is plain Markdown; the full index is https://lovelyrouter.com/llms.txt.
My task: <the inputs (links, keywords or accounts) and how many results you need>How it works

Run the tool with a cap
Send the links to
POST /v1/tools/amazon-bestsellers/runwithmax_results. The run holds its maximum cost from your balance and returns the ranked products as JSON.Save and compare

Get a ranked list with one request
Amazon Best Sellers takes category links in urls. One run returns up to 50 products:
curl https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/amazon-bestsellers/run \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $LOVELY_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{
"input": {
"urls": [
"https://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Electronics/zgbs/electronics/"
]
},
"max_results": 50
}'Best Sellers, New Releases and Most Wished For links all work, so you can read the same category in three views. A run still going after 60 seconds returns 202; Run a tool shows how to poll.
What each product holds
| Field group | What you get |
|---|---|
| Rank | Position in the list |
| Identity | Title and ASIN |
| Price | The listed price |
| Quality | Rating |
Keep the ASIN: it lets you follow the same product between runs even when the title changes.
Recipes
Run your category every Monday, store rank by ASIN, and chart who is climbing.
Read the New Releases page for your category and list ASINs that were not in last week's run.
Compare the prices of the top 20 with your own and see where you sit.
Compare Best Sellers with Most Wished For; products wished for but not yet top-ranked can signal demand that supply has not met.
Take the top ASINs and pass them to Amazon product details for features, images and seller.
Prefer plain words? Connect the MCP server and tell Claude Code or Cursor: "Read the Amazon Best Sellers page for Pet Supplies, compare with the run saved in last_week.json, and list ASINs that are new or moved up 10 or more ranks. Set max_results to 50."
Pair it with product detail and reviews
The list tells you who is winning. These tools tell you why:
Amazon Best Sellers for a category: rank, title, price, rating, ASIN.
Full Amazon product page by ASIN: price, rating, features, images, seller, rank.
Customer reviews for an Amazon ASIN: stars, title, text, date, verified purchase. Reviews come in pages of 10 (maxPages in the input).
Google Trends interest over time and by region for a keyword.
amazon-productreads the full product page for an ASIN: features, images, seller and rank.amazon-reviewsreads what customers say about a top-ranked product.google-trendsshows whether search interest in the category is rising.

What you pay
You pay per product: starting a run holds its maximum cost, the per-call fee plus the per-product fee times max_results, and the run settles to what it returned. The rest of the hold goes back to your balance. A run that fails or times out pays only for the products it delivered, and a run refused at the start costs nothing.
Reading 50 products a day is billed as 50 products a day. There is no subscription and no monthly minimum: top up from $5, and one balance pays for tools and models. The card above shows today's price; pricing lists every tool.
Frequently asked questions
Does it track rank history for me?+
No. It returns the list as it is when you run it. Save each run with a date to build your own history.
Can I read New Releases or Most Wished For?+
Yes. Pass the category link for any of those lists in urls.
How many products come back?+
Up to 50 per run.
Which Amazon sites does it work on?+
The example uses amazon.com. Pass a category link from the site you want to read.
How do I know a product's sales volume?+
The result gives rank, not units sold. Rank is the signal to compare between runs.
Do I need a subscription?+
No. You add credit to a prepaid balance and each run draws it down. Failed runs pay only for the results they delivered, and nothing renews automatically.
