Track what people post about your brand on Weibo
Search Weibo for a brand or product keyword and get posts as JSON, to follow mentions, find active voices and read what Chinese users say. Pay per result.
If your brand sells to China or gets talked about there, much of that talk happens on Weibo, in Chinese, and the app is hard to search from outside. Lovely Router searches it for you. Send a keyword, get one JSON object per result, pay per result from a prepaid balance. Call it from a monitoring script, a report job or an AI agent with one API key.
Hand it to your AI agent
Copy this prompt into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or any coding agent. It tells the agent where the docs are and how to use your API key.
Track what people post about your brand on Weibo. Use the Lovely Router data tools: each returns JSON and is billed per result.
- Docs (read first): https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/find.md and https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/run.md
- Plan first: POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/suggest with `{"task": "<my task in plain words>"}` (free). It returns the tools to run in order, each with an example `input`, the `input_required` fields, an estimated cost and a ready-made `run` request. Replace the example values with my task's; if a field is unclear, read the tool with GET https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/<id>. To browse instead, POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/discover searches the catalog.
- Show me the plan and its estimated cost (`total_est_cost_usd`) before running anything large.
- Run: POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/<id>/run with `{"input": {...}, "max_results": N}`. A 200 has the finished run with `items`; a 202 means it is still running, so poll the `poll` path until `status` is `succeeded`, `failed`, `timed_out` or `stopped`.
- Only delivered results are billed. Keep max_results small on the first run, check the output, then scale up.
- If you support MCP, connect https://lovelyrouter.com/mcp instead (Streamable HTTP, same key; https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/mcp.md) and use suggest_tools, get_tool and run_tool.
- Auth: read my API key from the LOVELY_API_KEY environment variable and send it as `Authorization: Bearer $LOVELY_API_KEY`. Never print or commit the key. If it is not set, ask me to create one at https://lovelyrouter.com/app/keys.
- Billing is prepaid: every call is charged to my balance, so test with a small request before running anything large.
- Every docs page is plain Markdown; the full index is https://lovelyrouter.com/llms.txt.

Choose your keywords
List your brand, product names and common spellings, in Chinese and English. Chinese queries surface native conversations; English or brand queries surface international mentions.
Run the tool with a cap
Send the input to
POST /v1/tools/weibo-search/runwithmax_results. SetoperationtosearchWeibowith akeywordandmax_results. The run holds its maximum cost from your balance and returns the posts as JSON.Read and track
Store results with a date. Ask a model to translate and group them by topic and tone, and watch how the volume changes.
Search Weibo with one request
Search Weibo takes an operation, here searchWeibo, a keyword, and maxPages for how many pages to fetch. A page holds about 14 posts. max_results caps what you pay for:
curl https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/weibo-search/run \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $LOVELY_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{
"input": {
"operation": "searchWeibo",
"keyword": "北京",
"maxPages": 1
},
"max_results": 14
}'The same tool has other operations for a single post, a user profile, and a user's fans or followers; pick one operation per run. A run still going after 60 seconds returns 202; Run a tool shows how to poll.
What each result holds
| Field group | What you get |
|---|---|
| Posts | Weibo posts that match your keyword |
| Authors | A user ID you can use for the profile, fans and followers operations |
The text is in the language it was posted in, mostly Chinese. Ask a model to translate and classify it in the same job.
Recipes
Search your Chinese and English brand names daily, store the posts, and alert when the number jumps.
Search the product name for a week after a launch and ask a model to summarize the main praise and complaints.
Take the user IDs from your search results and use the userDetail operation to read their profiles.
Run the same job for two competing brands and compare volume and topics.
Search a campaign hashtag or keyword and track the posts over its run.
Prefer plain words? Connect the MCP server and tell Claude Code or Cursor: "Search Weibo for Tesla, fetch 3 pages, translate each post to English and tell me the main topics. Set max_results to 42."
Pair it with other Chinese platforms
Weibo is one voice. Other Chinese platforms show reviews, video and shopping talk:
Weibo posts for a keyword.
Xiaohongshu (RED) notes for a keyword.
Douyin videos for keywords.
Tweets matching search terms, hashtags or from given handles: text, author, engagement, date. Each search term takes X's advanced search operators (from:, since:, min_faves:, filter:, lang: …).
Reddit posts for a query or subreddit: title, body, score, comments count, author, date.
xiaohongshu-searchsearches Xiaohongshu notes, where product reviews are common.douyin-searchsearches short video on Douyin.x-searchcovers the same brand on X.reddit-searchcovers English-language discussion.

What you pay
You pay per result: starting a run holds its maximum cost, the per-call fee plus the per-result fee times max_results, and the run settles to what it returned. The rest of the hold goes back to your balance. A run that fails or times out pays only for the results it delivered, and a run refused at the start costs nothing.
Pulling 100 results a day is billed as 100 results a day. There is no subscription and no monthly minimum: top up from $5, and one balance pays for tools and models. The card above shows today's price; pricing lists every tool.
Frequently asked questions
Can I search Weibo in English?+
Yes. The keyword can be Chinese, English or mixed. Chinese queries surface native creators, and English or brand queries surface international mentions.
How many posts come back per page?+
About 14 posts per page of Search Weibo. maxPages sets how many pages to fetch.
How many results can one run return?+
Up to 100.
Can I look at one user instead of a keyword?+
Yes. The other operations read a post by ID, a user profile, and a user's fans or followers, using userId.
Does it translate the posts?+
No. Text comes back as posted. Translate it with a model in your own pipeline.
Do I need a subscription?+
No. You add credit to a prepaid balance and each run draws it down. Failed runs pay only for the results they delivered, and nothing renews automatically.
