Competitor website traffic benchmarking in one API call
Get estimated monthly visits, ranks, traffic sources, top countries and engagement for any list of domains as JSON, to benchmark competitors and sites.
When you pitch a market, size a competitor or decide who to partner with, you want to know how many people visit a site, where they come from and how they arrive. Pulling this from a dashboard by hand is slow and hard to repeat for fifty domains. Lovely Router returns Similarweb's estimates as data. Send domains, get one JSON object per site, pay per site from a prepaid balance.
Hand it to your AI agent

Competitor website traffic benchmarking in one API call. Use the Lovely Router data tools: each returns JSON and is billed per result.
- Docs (read first): https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/find.md and https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/run.md
- Plan first: POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/suggest with `{"task": "<my task in plain words>"}` (free). It returns the tools to run in order, each with an example `input`, the `input_required` fields, an estimated cost and a ready-made `run` request. Replace the example values with my task's; if a field is unclear, read the tool with GET https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/<id>. To browse instead, POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/discover searches the catalog.
- Show me the plan and its estimated cost (`total_est_cost_usd`) before running anything large.
- Run: POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/<id>/run with `{"input": {...}, "max_results": N}`. A 200 has the finished run with `items`; a 202 means it is still running, so poll the `poll` path until `status` is `succeeded`, `failed`, `timed_out` or `stopped`.
- Only delivered results are billed. Keep max_results small on the first run, check the output, then scale up.
- If you support MCP, connect https://lovelyrouter.com/mcp instead (Streamable HTTP, same key; https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/mcp.md) and use suggest_tools, get_tool and run_tool.
- Auth: read my API key from the LOVELY_API_KEY environment variable and send it as `Authorization: Bearer $LOVELY_API_KEY`. Never print or commit the key. If it is not set, ask me to create one at https://lovelyrouter.com/app/keys.
- Billing is prepaid: every call is charged to my balance, so test with a small request before running anything large.
- Every docs page is plain Markdown; the full index is https://lovelyrouter.com/llms.txt.

List the domains
Your competitors, prospects, acquisition targets or a whole category of sites, as plain domains such as
example.com.Run the tool
Send them in
domainstoPOST /v1/tools/website-traffic/runwithmax_results. The run holds its maximum cost from your balance and returns one object per site.Benchmark and track
Compare visits, rank, sources and countries across the set, and repeat each month to see who grows.
Get website traffic with one request
Website traffic takes a list of domains in domains. One domain is one site, and one run covers up to 50:
curl https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/website-traffic/run \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $LOVELY_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{
"input": {
"domains": [
"example-store.com",
"example.com"
]
},
"max_results": 2
}'Set max_results to the number of domains you send. A run still going after 60 seconds returns 202; Run a tool shows how to poll.
What each site holds
| Field group | What you get |
|---|---|
| Volume | Estimated monthly visits |
| Position | Ranks |
| Acquisition | Traffic sources |
| Audience | Top countries |
| Behavior | Engagement |
These are estimates from Similarweb, not a site's own analytics. Use them to compare sites with each other, not as exact counts.
Recipes
Run the 30 leading sites in a category and sum their monthly visits to see how large the audience is.
Put your site and five rivals in one run, and compare traffic sources to see who depends on search and who on direct visits.
Take a list of domains from a CRM, drop those under your visit threshold and score the rest by top countries.
Look at the top countries of your closest competitors and prioritize those for localization.
Store each run with a date and chart monthly visits per domain to find the sites that gained or lost.
Prefer plain words? Connect the MCP server and tell Claude Code or Cursor: "Get website traffic for the domains in competitors.txt, set max_results to the number of domains, and give me a table of monthly visits, top country and the biggest traffic source for each."
Pair it with other competitor data
Traffic tells you how big a site is. These tell you what it does with it:
Estimated traffic for websites from Similarweb: monthly visits, ranks, traffic sources, top countries, engagement.
An advertiser's ads from the Google Ads Transparency Center: format, text, dates shown, regions.
LinkedIn company pages: description, industry, size, headquarters, website, followers.
Google results pages for a query: organic results (position, title, URL, snippet, date, sitelinks) and related searches. One result = one results page (~10 links).
google-ads-transparencyshows the Google ads a company runs.linkedin-companyadds company size and profile.google-searchshows what a site ranks for in search.

What you pay
You pay per site: starting a run holds its maximum cost, the per-call fee plus the per-site fee times max_results, and the run settles to what it returned. The rest of the hold goes back to your balance. A run that fails or times out pays only for the sites it delivered, and a run refused at the start costs nothing.
Benchmarking 50 domains is billed as 50 sites. There is no subscription and no monthly minimum: top up from $5, and one balance pays for tools and models. The card above shows today's price; pricing lists every tool.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate are the numbers?+
They are Similarweb's estimates. They are good for comparing sites with each other, less so for exact visit counts.
How many domains can I send in one run?+
Up to 50.
Do I need a Similarweb account?+
No. You send domains and an API key.
Can I see traffic for a single page?+
The tool works at the level of websites, so pass the domain.
Do I need a subscription?+
No. You add credit to a prepaid balance and each run draws it down. Failed runs pay only for the results they delivered, and nothing renews automatically.
