Audit a competitor's TikTok account and posting strategy
Get an account's recent TikTok videos with the author's follower and like counts as JSON, to audit a competitor or vet a creator.
You want to know what a competing brand posts on TikTok, how often, and whether it works, but scrolling an account tells you very little. A structured export of its videos makes the pattern visible. Lovely Router reads an account for you. Send usernames, get one JSON object per video with the author's follower and like counts, pay per video from a prepaid balance. Call it from a script, a spreadsheet job or an AI agent.
Hand it to your AI agent
Copy this prompt into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or any coding agent. It tells the agent where the docs are and how to use your API key.
Audit a competitor's TikTok account and posting strategy. Use the Lovely Router data tools: each returns JSON and is billed per result.
- Docs (read first): https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/find.md and https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/run.md
- Plan first: POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/suggest with `{"task": "<my task in plain words>"}` (free). It returns the tools to run in order, each with an example `input`, the `input_required` fields, an estimated cost and a ready-made `run` request. Replace the example values with my task's; if a field is unclear, read the tool with GET https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/<id>. To browse instead, POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/discover searches the catalog.
- Show me the plan and its estimated cost (`total_est_cost_usd`) before running anything large.
- Run: POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/<id>/run with `{"input": {...}, "max_results": N}`. A 200 has the finished run with `items`; a 202 means it is still running, so poll the `poll` path until `status` is `succeeded`, `failed`, `timed_out` or `stopped`.
- Only delivered results are billed. Keep max_results small on the first run, check the output, then scale up.
- If you support MCP, connect https://lovelyrouter.com/mcp instead (Streamable HTTP, same key; https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/mcp.md) and use suggest_tools, get_tool and run_tool.
- Auth: read my API key from the LOVELY_API_KEY environment variable and send it as `Authorization: Bearer $LOVELY_API_KEY`. Never print or commit the key. If it is not set, ask me to create one at https://lovelyrouter.com/app/keys.
- Billing is prepaid: every call is charged to my balance, so test with a small request before running anything large.
- Every docs page is plain Markdown; the full index is https://lovelyrouter.com/llms.txt.

List the accounts
Write down the usernames of your competitors, partner brands or creators you are vetting. Leave out the @ sign.
Run the tool with a cap
Send the usernames to
POST /v1/tools/tiktok-profile/runwithmaxItemsin the input andmax_resultson the request. Addsinceoruntilto look at one period.Compare the accounts
Put the videos in a table, one row per video. Count posts per week, compare engagement across accounts, and ask a model to describe the content themes.
Get an account's videos with one request
Get TikTok profile videos takes usernames in usernames, or profile links in startUrls. maxItems caps the number of videos:
curl https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/tiktok-profile/run \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $LOVELY_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{
"input": {
"usernames": [
"nike"
],
"maxItems": 3
},
"max_results": 10
}'Each result is one video, so ten videos from three accounts is thirty results. Use the same cap for every account when you compare them. A run still going after 60 seconds returns 202; Run a tool shows how to poll.
What each video holds
| Field group | What you get |
|---|---|
| Videos | The account's videos |
| Author | The author's follower count and like count |
Use since and until to restrict the videos to a date range. Check one small run for the exact fields before you build charts on them.
Recipes
Pull the latest 50 videos from each of your four main competitors on the first of the month. Count posts per week and ask a model to name the three formats each account repeats.
The author's follower count comes with each video. Run the same account list every week, store the count with the date, and chart the growth.
Before a sponsorship, pull the creator's last 30 videos. Look at how often they post and whether the recent videos hold up against the follower count.
Use since and until to read only the weeks around a competitor's sale or launch, and see what they posted before and after.
Take the account's top videos and read their comments with tiktok-comments.
Prefer plain words? Connect the MCP server and tell Claude Code or Cursor: "Get the last 40 TikTok videos for these four usernames, count posts per week for each, and tell me which content formats each account repeats. Set max_results to 160."
Pair it with deeper TikTok data
The profile gives you the list of videos. These tools fill in what is inside them:
A TikTok account's videos with the author's follower and like counts.
TikTok videos for keywords or hashtags: caption, views, likes, shares, author, music.
Comments on a TikTok video by URL.
Spoken-word transcripts of TikTok videos by URL.
Videos from YouTube channels (handles such as @MrBeast, or channel URLs): title, views, likes, comments count, duration, date.
tiktok-searchfinds videos on a keyword or hashtag, including from accounts you do not follow yet.tiktok-commentsreads the audience reaction under a video you picked from the profile.tiktok-transcriptturns the spoken words of those videos into text.youtube-channelcovers the same brand on YouTube.
If you are picking creators rather than studying rivals, see influencer research.
What you pay
You pay per video: starting a run holds its maximum cost, the per-call fee plus the per-video fee times max_results, and the run settles to what it returned. The rest of the hold goes back to your balance. A run that fails or times out pays only for the videos it delivered, and a run refused at the start costs nothing.
Reading 100 videos is billed as 100 videos. There is no subscription and no monthly minimum: top up from $5, and one balance pays for tools and models. The card above shows today's price; pricing lists every tool.
Frequently asked questions
Can I look up an account by link instead of by username?+
Yes. The tool accepts user links in startUrls as well as usernames in usernames. Remove the @ sign when you use usernames.
Can I limit the videos to a date range?+
Yes. The input has since and until date fields, so you can read one campaign window instead of the whole feed.
How many videos can one run return?+
The cap is set with maxItems, and the tool's maximum is 200 videos per run.
Are follower counts included?+
Yes. The tool returns each video together with the author's follower and like counts.
Do I need a subscription?+
No. You add credit to a prepaid balance and each run draws it down. Failed runs pay only for the videos they delivered, and nothing renews automatically.
