Use case

Pinterest trend research:
see which ideas people save

Search Pinterest and get pins as JSON with image, title, link and saves, to spot visual trends and ideas worth building products or content around.

Prepaid, no subscriptionREST or MCPOne key for models, data and agents

Designers, merchandisers and content teams plan months ahead, and the best signal for home, fashion, food and wedding ideas is what people save on Pinterest. Scrolling the site gives you a feeling, not a table. Lovely Router turns a search into data. Send a keyword, get one JSON object per pin, pay per pin from a prepaid balance.

Hand it to your AI agent

Copy this prompt into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or any coding agent. It tells the agent where the docs are and how to use your API key.

Pinterest trend research: see which ideas people save. Use the Lovely Router data tools: each returns JSON and is billed per result.

- Docs (read first): https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/find.md and https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/run.md
- Plan first: POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/suggest with `{"task": "<my task in plain words>"}` (free). It returns the tools to run in order, each with an example `input`, the `input_required` fields, an estimated cost and a ready-made `run` request. Replace the example values with my task's; if a field is unclear, read the tool with GET https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/<id>. To browse instead, POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/discover searches the catalog.
- Show me the plan and its estimated cost (`total_est_cost_usd`) before running anything large.
- Run: POST https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/<id>/run with `{"input": {...}, "max_results": N}`. A 200 has the finished run with `items`; a 202 means it is still running, so poll the `poll` path until `status` is `succeeded`, `failed`, `timed_out` or `stopped`.
- Only delivered results are billed. Keep max_results small on the first run, check the output, then scale up.
- If you support MCP, connect https://lovelyrouter.com/mcp instead (Streamable HTTP, same key; https://lovelyrouter.com/docs/tools/mcp.md) and use suggest_tools, get_tool and run_tool.
- Auth: read my API key from the LOVELY_API_KEY environment variable and send it as `Authorization: Bearer $LOVELY_API_KEY`. Never print or commit the key. If it is not set, ask me to create one at https://lovelyrouter.com/app/keys.
- Billing is prepaid: every call is charged to my balance, so test with a small request before running anything large.
- Every docs page is plain Markdown; the full index is https://lovelyrouter.com/llms.txt.

How it works

010203
  1. List the themes you track

    Use plain search phrases such as minimalist living room, or paste Pinterest pin, board, profile or search links to start from a known place.

  2. Run the tool with a cap

    Send it to POST /v1/tools/pinterest-search/run with max_results. The run holds its maximum cost from your balance and returns the pins as JSON.

  3. Rank by saves

    Sort by saves, look at the titles and images of the top results, and repeat each month to see which themes rise.

02

Get Pinterest pins for a theme with one request

Search Pinterest pins takes a keyword in search, and the cap on pins in maxItems:

curl https://lovelyrouter.com/v1/tools/pinterest-search/run \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $LOVELY_API_KEY" \
  -H "content-type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "input": {
        "search": "minimalist living room",
        "maxItems": 30
      },
    "max_results": 30
  }'

Instead of a keyword you can pass startUrls: pin, idea, collection, profile or search links. A run still going after 60 seconds returns 202; Run a tool shows how to poll.

The tool returns what the search shows. Ask a model to label the images, group titles into themes or write product briefs from the top pins.

Recipes

Pick next season's colors

Search five palette phrases, take the top 50 pins of each and compare saves to see which palettes people keep.

Brief a product designer

Search the product type, take the 30 most saved pins, and ask a model to describe shared shapes, materials and styling.

Plan a content calendar

Run your category keywords each month and store the titles with saves. Topics that climb go on the calendar.

Check a niche before you launch

Search the style you want to sell. Low saves across the first 100 pins suggest weak interest, high ones show where the demand is.

Study a competitor's boards

Pass a profile or collection link in startUrls and see which of their pins earn the most saves.

Prefer plain words? Connect the MCP server and tell Claude Code or Cursor: "Search Pinterest for 'small balcony garden ideas', get 40 pins, rank them by saves and tell me the three recurring styles. Set max_results to 40."

06

What you pay

You pay per pin: starting a run holds its maximum cost, the per-call fee plus the per-pin fee times max_results, and the run settles to what it returned. The rest of the hold goes back to your balance. A run that fails or times out pays only for the pins it delivered, and a run refused at the start costs nothing.

Collecting 200 pins is billed as 200 pins. There is no subscription and no monthly minimum: top up from $5, and one balance pays for tools and models. The card above shows today's price; pricing lists every tool.

Frequently asked questions

?
What does a pin result include?+

Image, title, link and saves.

Can I start from a Pinterest board or profile?+

Yes. Pass pin, idea, collection, profile or search links in startUrls.

How many pins can one run return?+

Up to 200 pins, set with max_results.

Do saves tell me which trends are growing?+

Saves are a count at the time of the run. To see growth, run the same search on a schedule and compare runs.

Do I need a subscription?+

No. You add credit to a prepaid balance and each run draws it down. Failed runs pay only for the results they delivered, and nothing renews automatically.
